PowerPR and Investor Daily will hold the Indonesia Investment Forum in Hong Kong on Nov. 6-7 in an attempt to attract more foreign funds to invest in Indonesia.
First held in Singapore in May, the two institutions plan to hold another forum in New York in March 2014, said Christovita Wiloto, founder and chairman of Indonesia Investment Forum in a statement on Wednesday.
“The main purpose of Indonesia Investment Forum is to make Indonesia as the world’s leading country, by creating a better understanding of business in Indonesia, which will create interest to invest in Indonesia as well as increase the number of investors who will make investment in Indonesia,” Christovita said. “The forum will discuss various investment opportunities in Indonesia and will open the dialogue between the Indonesian government, Indonesian corporations as the investment target and global investors”.
The forum in Hong Kong will be attended by about 50 Indonesian corporations and 50 global investors. “There will be a public expose of Indonesia state-owned enterprises, Indonesian districts and cities. It will be very comprehensive for the first time,” Christovita said.
Indonesia is targeting Rp 390 trillion ($34 billion) of investment this year and Rp 506 trillion in 2014. During a state visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping early this month, Indonesian companies secured $32.8 billion of financing and investment from Chinese firms.
PowerPR is one of Indonesia’s leading public relations firms. Investor Daily — affiliated with the Jakarta Globe — is one of the nation’s leading business newspapers.
